Before sending your device to Fónfix for repair, it's important to identify your device and protect your personal data. Follow our simple guide to find your IMEI number and back up your important information.
Some repairs require a device reset or replacement, which may result in the loss of personal data. We strongly recommend completing and checking a full backup before handing over your device. Do not assume your data will be retained during the repair process.
Your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique identification number assigned to your mobile device. There are several ways to find it.
Open your phone's dialler and enter this code. Your IMEI number should appear on screen.
On iPhone, go to Settings > General > About. On Android, check Settings > About phone or the device information section.
On some devices, the IMEI number is printed directly on the SIM card tray.
Some devices have the IMEI printed on the rear housing or underneath a removable battery. Do not dismantle your device to locate it.
If your phone has two IMEI numbers, use the primary IMEI (IMEI 1) when registering your device for repair, unless instructed otherwise.
Choose your device type below and follow the steps to protect your photos, contacts, messages and other important information. Menu names may vary depending on your device and software version.
You can also connect your iPhone to a Mac and create a backup using Finder, or use the Apple Devices app on a compatible Windows PC. Older systems may use iTunes.
Check whether your photos and videos are backed up through Google Photos. You may also need to separately save downloaded files, app content and other important data.
If your device has been reset or replaced during the repair process, you can use a previous backup to restore supported data. The process varies by device.
When setting up your iPhone, follow the on-screen instructions and choose Restore from iCloud Backup or the appropriate computer backup option. Sign in with your Apple Account and select the relevant backup.
During device setup, sign in to the Google Account used for your backup. Follow the on-screen instructions to restore available data and settings. Some apps or files may need to be restored separately.
Take a few minutes to make sure your information is protected and your device is ready.
